Last Place Wisdom: The Papa John's Pizza Playoff Preview
The playoffs are upon us and it all comes down to this; the team that can win 3 games in a row will be the next TFLOEG league champion. For that reason, it is time to pull out all the stops. Does that mean that I will be calling on the powers of Papa John, Arrested Development, Tom Petty, 50 Cent and the Simpsons in hopes of getting me some fantasy karma? You betcha, let's get right to it.
The Papa John's Emo Shoutout of the Week
This week, the shoutout goes to all of you who can only watch as the rest of us begin the playoffs this week. This was the most competitive season the TFLOEG has seen up to this point, and all of the non-playoff teams should be looking forward to next season because they all have some solid keepers. As you listen to possibly the most Emo of all Emo Songs, picture Jaron Seitz singing it to you and know that I care, and not everyone will be having more fun than you this weekend.
Playoff Matchups
The Fear Boners vs My Ball Zac Ertz - John is on record as only caring about 2 teams, his own and Aaron's, and unfortunately for him one of those teams is going to be done after this week. This is the matchup that needed to happen at some point, your Obi Wan vs Vader showdown if you will, so while it might have held more drama at a later date at least it's happening now. John has run into a bit of trouble losing Ingram for the season, but he should still be in decent shape even if the NFL predictions have Aaron coming out ahead. Aaron has a hard choice to make, and as of this writing he appears to be sitting DeAngelo Williams for Frank Gore; it's a move I personally wouldn't make but it could potentially work out for him. Player to watch: It would only be fitting if this game comes down to Tom Brady. I ultimately think how Brady plays will decide this matchup.
NFL Owner vs oh that's nasty - These teams were fighting for 1st and 2nd for a long time to start the season, but injuries have ravaged both of them and cost Dawson his 1st overall spot and dropped Shayne all the way down to 7th. Dawson is a little bit healthier at this point and has to be considered the favourite, but as this is fantasy football anything is possible. All of Shayne's WRs are boom or bust players, and if they all boom at the same time he could be tough to beat. Player(s) to watch: Ronnie Hillman and Jeremy Hill will ultimately be the guys who decide this matchup in my mind. Both have been incredibly inconsistent, but if one of them can assert themselves as a #1 RB for this week it could be the deciding factor of the week.
You Can Run But You Can't Hyde vs Scraps - Mike wishes he had Curtis' team at this point in the season, and maybe he's right, but while he has struggled the last couple of weeks he is not in a bad position at all. His team is healthy, and he managed to snag another RB free agent in Shaun Draughn. Mike probably has the hardest lineup decisions to make this week, having to choose 3 of Draughn, Hurns, West, Ivory, Maclin and Crabtree to start. I don't envy him the decision, even if it's nice to have the depth. Steve's team is just solid from top to bottom, with his toughest decision being who to start at QB between Roethlesberger and Bortles. Player(s) to watch: For Steve, I think Scott Chandler will be an incredibly important piece, and whether or not he finds the endzone again will speak to his success. For Mike, it will come down to whomever he decides to play as his WR#2 and Flex. Make the right calls there and I like his chances.
The Papa John's Pizza Pirates vs NINERS - NFL.com has me favoured, but this is probably the least confident I have felt going into an important game in my time in the league. I've always done everything I could to give myself RB depth for this point in the season, but somehow I ended up with half a RB I can trust. I feel somewhat ok about McFadden, but don't like Lacy, Woodhead or Ware at my second RB spot. I'll have to rely on my WRs to carry me like I have all season, and hope that it can be enough. Stan's team is pretty solid other than Sammy Watkins who can be hit or miss, but luckily for me his Oakland players are up against a really strong defense in Denver. Player(s) to watch: It wouldn't surprise me (I still worked that in) if LeSean McCoy ran all over Chip Kelly and the Eagles, so I'm mentally preparing for that. On my side, it will probably come down to what Spencer Ware is able to do, as he's the RB I trust the most to at least get me 6 or 7 points.

| Sorry Stan, I hope Antonio does this to your chances this week. |
