Notes From The Second Annual Manager's Meeting
While the season is still a ways off, this morning signalled the starting point of The Fantasy League Of Extraordinary Gentleman 2015-2016! There was an excitement in the air at the prospect of an expansion draft and a tinge of melancholy attributed to Aaron's neglected feelings regarding week three of last year. Tempers flared, but majority rule prevailed and how the league will take shape for next year has been decided.
Let the decisions begin!!!
1. The Expansion Draft:
-We are pleased to add Clarke Croissant and Travis Seavers to TFLEOG to complete a twelve man league.
-A one time $35 league entrance fee will be collected from the two new owners and then each year there after the league fees will become the normal $20.
-We are still working on the draft order for the two new owners.
2. The Keeper Lock In Date:
- Owners must lock in their keepers (up to four, with the option of a fifth provided they are a player going into their second season) by Sunday August 16, 2015 by noon.
- After the deadline a draft board will be created showing where all the kept players are located based on the round drafted last year (or one round up if they are a player being held for a second season).
3. Draft Date:
-We decided that since Mike always go to his lame concert on Labor Day we should hold the draft on the Sunday of the third week of the NFL pre-season. The third week of the pre-season is typically referred to as the "dress rehearsal week", so after this week all regular season starters will rest for the remainder of the pre-season and the possibility for injury is minimal.
-Specifically the Draft will be on August 30, 2015 at 7:30 at Altus Geomatics. Steve has already made plans to have my mother available to babysit so he will by able to commit his full attention to the draft via google spreadsheet.
4. Contact List/BBM Group:
- We had discussed making a contact list with phone numbers and email addresses, however we decided that we would create a BBM group instead. I have sent out text invitations to most members of the group, Aaron or Andrew will have to add Stan and Keith will have to add Clarke. Mike and Curt will need to get their heads in the game for five minutes.
- I believe the BBM group will be a positive thing as we will be able to discuss league business directly to everyone's device, share photos, have a league calendar and have an up to date Trade Block for owner's to deal players easier.
5. Playoff Expansion:
- There was a conversation of making the amount of teams that make the playoffs to seven, however NFL.com settings only allow for six or eight. I'm going to leave it at six for now, but if eight seems better let me know and majority will decide it.
6. Second QB Position:
- Since we are adding two more managers to the league the logistics behind having a twelve man league are simply not feasible. Thus, we will be converting the second QB spot to a DEFENSIVE flex position. The restriction of the flex position is up for debate, here are the possible flex settings according to NFL.com:
- Defensive Line Player
- Line Backer
- Defensive Back
- Flex IDP (Defensive Line/Line Backer/Defensive Back)
- I'm assuming we'll use the Flex IDP position, but let me know. We could even remove the DEF position and add an amalgamation of one of each of the positions listed.
Now the point system would have to be discussed, but here are the options for that end of the ball:

7. Blockbuster Trade:
- It made no sense for me to cock block Andrew from complete enjoyment of having Jimmy Graham in Seattle. Thus, the latest trade in the TFLOEG will be Andrew receiving: Lynch (RB Seattle) and Graham (TE Seattle), John will be receiving: McCoy (RB Buffalo) and Evans (WR Tampa Bay).
What I need from The Moral Majority:
- a text/bbm of commitment to the proposed August 30 draft day and your availability.
- opinions on six or eight team playoff.
- opinions on Defensive Flex Position and propose scoring system.
It's a great day to be alive and happy Canada Day!
-The Commish
