From The Desk Of The Commissioner: Statistic Changes For Week 3
There was a change in statistics made by the NFL which were implemented into the Fantasy Division some time over last night. They were minor stat changes that happen every week, but due to the nature of the changes and the match-up a win was stripped from Aaron and awarded to Steve. Obviously, once I noticed this I knew today would be a day of answering excited/furious texts from either party. I've been able to figure out directly what happened:
End of Monday Night Football Match-Up Score:
End of Monday Night Football Match-Up Score:
Notice:
-the Ravens have a score of 4 points and the Broncos a score of 7 points.
-Totals of 102.8 to 98.3 in Aaron's favor.
Statistical Changes Made Last Night According to ESPN:
Notice:
- an added Forced Fumble for Ware (which is 1 fantasy point in TFLOEG scoring system)
-an added Blocked Punt, PAT or FG for Knighton (which is 3 fantasy points in TFLOEG scoring system)
-a removed Sack for Upshaw (which takes away 1 point in TFLOEG scoring system)
Same Data Applied in NFL.com/Fantasy Formats:
In short, Steve gains 4 points and Aaron loses 1 point.
Final Match Up Score after NFL Statistic Experts implement changes to NFL.com/fantasy:
Notice:
-The Ravens now have a score of 3 to account for the loss of a sack.
-The Broncos now have a score of 11 to account for the added FG Block and Forced Fumble.
The new score of 102.3 to 101.8 makes the win swing to Steve rather then Aaron.
I've been in talks with both parties and while there is a sense of disappointment from Aaron he believes that he now truly understands what Joe Paterno must have felt watching his records fall before his death.
