Last Place Wisdom: Can't Stop!
So the blog has really died down these last couple of weeks, to the point that I was seriously debating whether or not to include a post this week. However, my fantasy season has been going so well up to this point, I'm extremely hesitant to switch anything up at this extremely important junction. That being the case, I figured I need to continue with at least some Last Place Wisdom for this week, so here we go.
As an aside, the trade deadline is November 22nd of next week, so here's hoping we see a few fire sales between now and then.
After last week's offensive outburst, this week was a far less explosive matchup. I was able to overcome an early hole to come back and beat Shayne, to find myself sitting alone in 1st place. I've been on quite the run at this point, but I'm still waiting for reality to kick in and ruin my season (which explains me picking up Robert Turbin to deal with the inevitable Marshawn Lynch injury).
John was able to squeak one out against Curtis to keep his playoff chase alive, while Aaron has kept up his strong play to find himself in the last playoff spot. It's certainly made for an interesting last couple of weeks, as no one is completely out of it, and all of the playoff seedings are up for grabs. Myself, Shayne and Andrew have clinched, but which of us get the byes as the top 2 teams is still in play.
Week 11 Preview
Sexy Sacks Men vs Sideliners - This seems like a tough matchup to me, as Steve has a number of good matchups. I'm hoping that Case Keenum starts to play like the rookie he is, although Oakland is a good game for him. I'm also hoping Danny Amendola blows out his groin in the 1st quarter, which I feel like I have a much better chance of happening. There's not a lot to say about my team, as they just keep performing, although I'd feel better if I had Zach Stacy going for me again.
Oh that's nasty vs The Fear Boners - Winner keeps their playoff chances alive, loser probably ends up all but officially eliminated. Tough game for Dawson's Chiefs, as it'll be tough for them to put up their usual points against the Broncos, and he has tough WR matchups against Joe Haden and Patrick Peterson. John got lucky last week, but if he can win this week he might start to feel some excitement about his season.
What are the Chances vs The Meatball Experience - Curtis has a chance to play spoiler these next 2 weeks, as he can really hurt Andrew and my chances at getting the bye. Curtis has been on a tough losing streak, as he has been unable to find any sort of consistency, although he has the talent to pull off an upset. Andrew has some touch matchups against KC, but the rest of his games are pretty favourable.
NINERS vs BISP - Mike is another team on a tough losing streak, and it doesn't get any easier with Arian Foster done for the year. He has some talent, but his problem has been knowing who to start, as he has left the most points on his bench out of any team in the league. Stan is hoping for a shootout in Philly, as his team is looking ok if Foles and Cooper can keep their hot streak going.
The Miracle Mets vs NFL Owner - The game of the week in my mind, as no matchup has a bigger influence on playoff positioning. Aaron is fighting for his playoff life, but I think his team is looking better than it has all season now that Andre Johnson has gotten going and Golden Tate has stepped up. If he can stay healthy, I would be a little frightened to meet him in the playoffs. Shayne is looking to get back into 1st place, where he has basically spent all season up to this point, and will have to rely on Manning against the top D in the league, and AP facing a tough game in Seattle.

On the next Last Place Wisdom
- I try to come up with enough time and material to complete a full post.
- I host an all day Trade Deadline special, complete with pizza and Bob Mackenzie.
- An eliminated John focuses all of his attention on getting revenge on Andrew and Mike.

I like my chances.
ReplyDeleteJust watch Andre Ellington and Keenan Allen go off, in what was clearly an attempt by me to stay ahead of you in the race for 1st.
