Last Place Wisdom: Too late to care about the title
Well I have to apologize to everyone with the OC disorder (don't call it that) who I might have thrown off by not following my typical posting schedule. With the long weekend and a busier than average start of the week, I missed my typical blog writing time. I suppose I could have always just gone with a surrogate to write the blog for me, but instead you'll just get even more mediocre fantasy analysis than I normally provide.
It's a little late for this section, but it ended up being quite the week for waiver pickups. Joseph Randle, Reuben Randle, Keenan Allen, Brandon Jacobs, Nick Foles, Kris Durham....all of these guys could play solid roles going forward.
I'm also going to use this space to bitch about Mike. I understand Bennett is the best TE available, but do you really need to be carrying 3 of them on your roster right now? (Ok, I'm just upset because Bennett was my fall back plan if Gronk can't go again. Really I'm just frustrated at Gronk for being such a pussy (and not in the British way)).
| His name is Larry Middleman...that is one piece of AD trivia I had forgotten before looking up this picture. |
It was quite the weekend for football, of which I watched none. Ok, that's not quite true, as I did catch Tom Brady ripping John's heart out and I did make it back to Medicine Hat in time to catch the end of Colts-Chargers (so I guess you could say I caught about as much as the Indianapolis Receivers did this week....Hey-oh!) Somehow John managed to squeak out a win despite this, on the crazy scoring correction that I'm still not sure I completely understand. In any case, I support it in principle since I don't think players should lose points for fumbles on special teams when they can't gain anything (which already screwed John once).
Thankfully I was able to prevail over Aaron, which makes me extremely happy given the amount of smack he has talked about my team so far this year. My stars were my stars, which made up for a lackluster performance from the rest of my team.
Mr.Manager of the
Week Award
I'm going to give it to Dawson this week. He stuck with Kyle Rudolph despite his being turrible (and playing on a turrible team), and it finally paid off. He also deserves more credit for picking up the Chief's D/ST, which has been unreal so far this year.

Injuries
I don't even know at this point, and I'm too lazy to check. Cobb, Jones and Shorts got hurt in some way I think, same with Murray. Check your own injury reports.
Random Thoughts
John's win has the standings looking a lot tighter than they looked before. Nice to see so much parity in the league this year, as it really goes to show than anyone can beat anyone else on a given week.
Week 3 Preview
Sexy Sacks Men vs NINERS – Hopefully MJD doesn't come back to bite me in the ass, but I'm happy to have gotten good value for him. I'm expecting a close game as we fight for a shot at a potential tie for 1st place
The Crimson Tide vs The Fear Boners –Aaron has taken a page out of Andrew's book and changed his team name (possibly in a further attempt to troll Andrew by comparing them to College football teams). That the winner gets out of last place makes this a big game. I expect good games from Aaron's Eagles, and his team could be dangerous if Ridley is back. John has some tough decision with the Saints on a bye
Sideliners vs NFL Owner – The top 2 scoring teams in the league face off in what should be a shootout. Manning is coming off his first average game and should be pumped up to face Indy.
Hero Squad vs oh that's nasty – I award a stuffed seal to Andrew for his Arrested Development inspired name, in what is a severely underrated joke in my mind, and a name I like to use from time to time as well. Andrew has lost 2 straight and has to be a little worried, and if I bothered to analyze the upcoming game I might be able to predict if he can pull out of his losing streak.
What are the Chances vs BISP – Mike is hoping to get one of Newton's good games, while Curtis is probably the only person interested in the horrible Monday Night Football contest. I'm expecting a good game from Finley as the other GB pass catchers are banged up.
On the next Last Place Wisdom:
I recap Week 7, where I put more effort into coming up with better jokes in this section.
Mike tries even harder to corner the market on Quarterbacks and Tight Ends
Stat changes cause us all to think we've gone crazy after checking the standings on Tuesday morning.
