Week One: Breakdown/Shakedown

War Boners VS What Are The Chances?:

I don't think I did too bad, the players that didn't perform were the ones that shouldn't have trouble in the future and my sleepers did fine.

Curt's team won as all his players played to potential, but there was an exception. I think Steven Jackson is far better then his stat-line this week, he'll only play better. Great pick up in the second.

NINERS VS Oh That's Nasty:

Stan got slammed on the message boards and from a jealous Aaron for having the balls to draft the team any San Fran Fan would dream of. I think Stan should have a good season if Kaepernick keeps using his arm, pocket passing QBs are key to fantasy success. Both his RBs made it through Week 1 so there's hope that Demarco will make it through his first full season. The surprise to me is how much Terrell Pryor looked for McFadden in screens, slants and short passing situations and what McF did with that attention. We may collectively be wrong on him as long a he has Pryor.

As for Dawston, Mass; Dez where were you? The giant's D looked terrible and yet Dez didn't step up, I was genuinely shocked and wide eyed. Hopefully he gets it together (although not until you sell him to me in week 4) or else he may end up being the biggest surprise to me this year. With the exception of Miller I think all of his players will show up bigger then they did this week (well not A.J., he's still golden). No cause for panic (except for Dez, just give him to me now!!!)

Sideliners VS Reading Dwane-Bowes:

Match-up of the week.

I think Steve's team looked great in every situation. He should be able to dress a great team consistently.

Andrew sneaked out the win, but a win's a win. I say that because the second Demaryius TD was so terribly played by the Ravens. Let's face it, I hate Andrew.

Oh? I need to elaborate or the Ambiguously Gay Duo will give off the speculative vibe of troubled waters? Fine. He drafted my player of the year, LeSean McCoy, before I could. Shayne can keep his APs and Peyton Mannings, I want McCoy come playoff time. You're a dick.

The Godfather VS BISP:

Just gotta keep your composure Aaron. Ridley will be fine now with Vereen's injury and as soon as you plug DeSean Jackson in instead of Moore you'll be great. Or better thought, Jackson stinks, trade him to me.

Boner Prime squeeked out the win due to a fantastic showing by Jared Cook. I'm never saying anything other then my picks at another draft. No pointing, No laughing, No congratulating and certainly No touching (sorry... that's plagiarism from a competing column it won't happen again).

NFL Owner VS Sexy Sacksman:

Is there C or a K in sax? Because Keith certainly didn't C this Koming! Shane's players over-produced, but should be consistently high point getters in the future. If he ditches Gates and grabs someone off the WW he could be unstoppable.

Keith's team under-produced, but it's not an unmanageable situation for him. Off hand I'd say pitch Brown and Dudfeld, plug in Thompkins and Bennett (I called it on Monday). Swap in Lacy and you're fine. Nothing out of hand.

It's only Week 1 we'll all be fine. Except for anyone with Eagles Players, trade them to me.

  1. I can only thank Keith for drafting Lynch so I could then take McCoy. I know that pick surprised almost everyone. Except John.

  2. John only has himself to blame for choosing to pick 10th when he has the 2nd pick. He likely got greedy, thinking McCoy would fall after his disappointing season and get both Shady and Spiller.

I think Dez will be fine, as long as his injuries don't pile up. I can see big games from Austin and Witten early on while Defenses key on Dez for a while.

I hate Jared Cook already. I bought the hype last year, and didn't want any part this year.

Bennett was my guy after Jordan Cameron on the draft list, if I didn't get Graham/Gronk. This is why we can remain fantasy rivals even though we're at different ends of the spectrum...we get each other.

    Looking forward to more Breakdown/Shakedown.

  3. Yeah... Week 1 did nothing to increase my optimism - Dez had better do something soon! - but I'm not in panic mode yet.

I'll need a couple of my high risk guys to produce if I aspire to more than the peloton, but it could happen. Lots of football left to be played!!!!
