Two a Days: What Makes The Red Man Red? Chip Kelly.
Another awesome piece from Keith, it'll be nice to have his weekly last place column for many seasons to come! Make a split with these bananas:
Quarterback-
Robert Griffin III (U of Baylor)- Before last season everyone said there was noway that RG3 could be on the same level as Cam Newton. Then, RG3 out preformed him until a concussion against the Falcons. He torched his knee last year, but he did it showing either a high amount of dedication to the team or personal hubris. Since we're not in a Fantasy Morality League, I don't care which one it was and look for me to be saying "You know he's injured right?" if you try to take him before me in the seventh.
Running Backs-
Alfred Morris (U of Florida Atlantic)- Undrafted last year, although I tried to claim him moments before he laid the smack down on the Aints. Dave Richards loved him, and despite listening to everything he said I let you chuckle-heads see huge stats and claim him off the wire. There are some new faces in the backfield this year so maybe others will see some of his carries, but I still think he's a top 12 RB1 at the end of the season.
Wide Receivers-
Pierre Garcon (U of Mount Union)- Bummed foot, but he's RG3's go-to guy. If he's healthy he's a top 20 WR.
Devery Henderson
Tight Ends-
Fred Davis (U of SC)- He's coming off a huge injury last year, but has looked playable in practice. I wouldn't risk it, but I know Keith loved this guy once (read: don't draft him unless you want to help Keith edit the below post ;) ).

Philadelphia Eagles
Quarterbacks-
Michael Vick (U of Virginia Tech)- Just won the job two hours ago. He was a darling three seasons ago, but has killed Curt's team (the one year Curt wasn't in the finals) and killed Dawson's dreams three weeks into last year. New coach could help him out, but I think his best days are behind him.
Running Backs-
LeSean McCoy (U of Pitt)- Had an off season last year with the injury and everyone on the team quitting on the season. Expect big things from him in a run first Chip Kelly system.
Bryce Brown ( U of Kansas St.)- It's a run first team why not double up? He had a couple 20-30pt games in McCoy's absence.
Wide Receivers-
DeSean Jackson (U of Cal)- Chip Kelly loves his speedy receivers that can run the ball out of the backfield and provide some sneaky plays. Don't believe me? Go on youtube and check out DeAnthony Thomas.
Some racist guy (U of Bigotry)- He would have been cut if Maclin hadn't torn his ACL. Don't draft him as he'll probably get injured early from a "remember me" shot.
Tight Ends-
Brent Celek (U of Cincinnati)- Old. You could do better.

Just a clarification, but I believe Dawson drafted Vick last year, and actually got 3 good games out of him before his injury and fleecing me for Newton.
ReplyDeleteThat's correct, my bad. Fleecing is subjective and a two way street though!
ReplyDeleteIt was either that or me "stupidly trading him Newton". Either one works really.
ReplyDeleteAnd you were correct on my love for Fred Davis. I still like him this year, but there are 8 other guys I can take in the 14th round and feel ok with.
