Two A Days: Quoth the Raven, Never draft a Bengal.
Applesauce:
A.J. Green (U of Georgia)- Don't let his boo-boo in episode one of Hard Knocks fool you, he's gonna be just fine and probably better then ever as his supporting cast of Sanu and Hawkins are good (just not draft good).
Quarterbacks-
Dennis Pitta
Ed Dixon
Cincinnati Bengals
Quarterbacks-
Andy Dalton (U of Texas Christian)- Here's a sneaky QB, he's surrounded by solid weapons he should be good right? Maybe Andy's first two seasons weren't Cam Newton-esque, but they certainly weren't Blaine Gabbert-esque either.
Running Backs-
Ben Jarvus Green-Ellis (U of Mississippi)- He's a consistent runner, may be a nice RB2 or flex play.
Giovani Bernard (U of NC)- A rookie having a good season in the NFL? I'll believe it when I see it.
Wide Receivers-
A.J. Green (U of Georgia)- Don't let his boo-boo in episode one of Hard Knocks fool you, he's gonna be just fine and probably better then ever as his supporting cast of Sanu and Hawkins are good (just not draft good).
Tight Ends-
Jermaine Gresham (U of Oklahoma)- Mike's go-to TE, he's playing in a tandem now so don't be surprised if Mike has a boom/bust season.
Tyler Eifert (U of Notre Dame)- Everybody is moderately high on this guy, will he break the curse of offensive players from Notre Dame doing anything in the NFL?
Baltimore Ravens
Quarterbacks-
Joe Flacco (U of Delaware)- He's a good back-up or bye week guy, but you're going nowhere fast if he's your starter.
Running Backs-
Ray Rice (U of Rutgers)- Everyone says he's going to see a dip in production due to the next guy in line, Pierce. I don't believe it and I think it may be a benefit because he'll be able to take a bit more breaks and stay fresh longer in games. Top ten pick easily.
Bernard Pierce (U of Temple)- He still has value in our league, just don't worry about taking him until late!
Wide Receivers-
Torrey Smith (U of Maryland)- SPLOOSH! That was Keith again with another saying that makes him go wild (Third Year Receiver). Generally it's in the third year in the NFL that we are able to see where a player's value is in their stats. They've had two years to learn the system and put up their big or meh numbers in year three. So high potential and high risk.
Tight Ends-
Dallas Clark (U of Iowa)- He's a oldie and possibly a sneaky pick up as Flacco has shown to favor his TE's in the red zone.

It's always interesting trying to figure out what you're actually thinking by what you don't say in your previews.
ReplyDeleteYeah right I mean every single word.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying you're lying in your previews, just that I try and figure out what you're thinking when you don't discuss guys as much as I expected.
ReplyDeleteThis line for example: "A rookie having a good season in the NFL? I'll believe it when I see it." - Tough to say after the great rookie class last year. I know you don't typically like rookies, probably because it's tough to find value since they are often over-hyped.
That's an interesting point. Maybe I've thought about it and maybe I haven't ;).
ReplyDeleteWell half the fun is trying to predict how the draft plays out and who likes who, especially since you and I follow most of the same sources (except you listen to CBS while I listen more to Christopher Harris).
ReplyDeleteAnd some of us watch Hard Knocks.
ReplyDeleteYet, you dont want to draft a Bengal...interesting ;)
